Full job description
WLF is seeking a heavy truck and trailer mechanic to work 2nd shift in our state-of-the-art shop, supporting one of the leading construction and transportation companies in the northeast.
Our skilled team of mechanics is the driving force behind our ability to meet the goals and needs of our contract schedules. Mechanics are responsible for performing scheduled maintenance and repair on heavy trucks and trailers, including hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems.
If you have a strong work ethic, mechanical and diagnostic skills & abilities, a desire to take on challenges, and are a true team player dedicated to exceptional workmanship, this position may be for you.

Preferred Experience:
- Experience working as a Mechanic on heavy commercial trucks and trailers
- 5+ years hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic systems, and diagnostics
- Knowledge of Cat ET/SIS
- Knowledge of Cummins Insite
Position Requirements:
- Must have a complete set of hand tools
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, OSHA 10, Medical Card, Hydraulics license
- Knowledge of gas and diesel engines
- Knowledge and experience with electrical and hydraulics
- Must have the ability to lift, push or pull 70+ pounds, climb heavy equipment, and bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods
- Must have strong communication and listening skills and be able to read, write and speak English
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Auto Mechanic – Light/Medium Duty

Full job description
WLF is seeking an auto mechanic to work on light/medium duty vehicles and trucks, supporting one of the leading construction and transportation companies in the northeast.
Our skilled team of mechanics is the driving force behind our ability to meet the goals and needs of our contract schedules. If you have a strong work ethic, a desire to take on challenges, and are a true team player dedicated to exceptional workmanship, this position may be for you.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and follow-up repairs.
- Licensed DOT inspections.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of vehicles, trucks, and equipment including, but not limited to the following: electrical, brakes, cooling systems, starters, alternators, A/C systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas only), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as scanners and pressure gauges.
- Document repairs performed, parts used, and findings and observations according to company standards utilizing Repair Orders on a laptop.
- Perform and document all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Complete required DOT forms and all other forms promptly and accurately as applicable.
- Assist in shop cleanup at the end of each day for tools, parts, and equipment.
- Participate/Complete all company-required safety training.
- Comply with all safety rules and policies and maintain a clean workspace.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience and Requirements:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an automotive mechanic on light/medium vehicles or equivalent combination of technical education or certifications and other mechanic experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, OSHA 10, Medical Card.
- Must have a complete set of hand and air tools necessary to perform required duties
- Keep up-to-date with and learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques.
- Understand the implications of new information and technologies and how they apply to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Must have strong communication and listening skills and be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
